The Tampa Bay Buccaneers' run from the wild card to Super Bowl champions was a remarkable one. Tom Brady and the Bucs became the first team to beat three former Super Bowl MVP quarterbacks on the way to the title, defeating Drew Brees, Aaron Rodgers and Patrick Mahomes in successive games. Tampa Bay became the seventh wild-card team to win it all and the first since the 2010 Green Bay Packers.

Brady joins exclusive club
NFL - A 10th trip to the Super Bowl puts Tom Brady in some exclusive company across sports. Brady's 10th trip to the title round comes a few months after LeBron James did the same in the NBA Finals, making them the only players in the four major North American sports leagues to do that in more than 30 years. Brady and James are the first players to make it to the title round for a 10th time since Kareem Abdul-Jabbar did it in his final season in the NBA in 1989.

Heat still believe turnaround will come
NBA - As if losing the NBA Finals isn't bad enough, there now seems to be a curse that stretches into the following season. The Miami Heat aren't believing that quite yet - even after a disastrous start to the 2020-21 campaign. The reigning Eastern Conference champions are 6-12, matching the franchise's worst 18-game start since opening 4-14 in 2007-08. The roster has been decimated by injuries and virus-related issues, and the current losing streak reached five games.

Brady, Mahomes prepare for 5th matchup
NFL - There was a regular-season shootout and a playoff masterpiece the first season that Patrick Mahomes and Tom Brady met on a football field. Brady came out ahead in those two meetings, but Mahomes has gotten the edge the past two times they met. Now as they are set to meet on football's biggest stage of the Super Bowl, it's time to look back at those first four games when they shared a field.

NBA protocols stiffen amid postponements
NBA - With five games called off this week already and more teams dealing with virus-related issues, the NBA and the National Basketball Players Association enacted additional rules Tuesday in the hope of keeping the season going safely. Players and team staff will have to remain at their residence when in their home markets and are prohibited from leaving their hotels when on the road.
